Chile and Argentina will face each other in a battle for the third-place in Copa America 2019 on Saturday at Arena Corinthians. Argentina lost the semi-final against their big rival Brazil with 2:0 and now have to play for the bronze medals. The champions from the previous two editions, Chile couldn’t cope with the team of Peru and were trashed by the Peruvians with three goals to nil.

ARGENTINA must pick themselves up after semi-final heartache if they’re to win the Copa America third place play-off.

Lionel Messi and Co fell short in a major tournament once again as they were beaten by Brazil in the final-four and come up against defending champions Chile, who crashed out after a 3-0 defeat to Peru.

Argentina struggled for consistency throughout the tournament and fell at the semi-final stage, losing 2-0 to hosts Brazil.

Lionel Scaloni’s side had earlier tasted defeat against Colombia and drew with Japan in the group stage before edging past Qatar and Venezuela.

La Albiceleste were beaten finalists against Chile in the previous two editions of the Copa America but will instead now face their fierce rivals in the third-place play-off.

And Argentina will call upon talisman Messi once more, with some reports suggesting it could be the 32-year-old’s final international appearance.
